Subject: Male Rape In Our Holding Cells
TO: The Editor
Kindly consider publishing my letter to the public, which is of grave concern to us all, especially if we have young sons in our households.
My personal contact numbers are 039 681 2008 / 072 761 1736.
Thank you greatly,
Memory
The trial awaiting cells, or holding cells as it is commonly known, is where crime suspects are being held awaiting their court date.
Every one is put into the same cell, as you are considered innocent until proven guilty.
The crime can range from not paying a speeding fine, drunken driving to serial rapist and mass murderer.
Once the door is locked behind you, there is no help for you and you need to survive by your wits. You do not stand much chance of surviving with your pride in tact against the gang of hardened criminals you meet up with in there.
Especially at night when the lights go off, and their singing drowns your voice.
We have established an organization called Together Against Crime which is a non-governmental and non-profit institution. Your input will be greatly appreciated.
We can be found on our brand new website, www.togetheragainstabuse.bravehost.com and by celphone. Merely sms the word togetheragainstabuse to the number 33003.
We are establishing links with other existing organizations for strength.
Our issue at hand is jail rape, and we are also calling for the installation of cctv inside the holding cells and bathrooms, where most of the crime takes place.
We hope to assist both the potential rape victims and rape victims.
Please join us in our fight against this soul destroying practice.
Thank you kindly,
Memory Pieterse
